Shinji Kanda is a Japanese illustrator and formally trained fine artist based in Kyoto. He is known for his contributions to the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG), having started his career in this field with the Brilliant Stars expansion in 2022. His first cards included Magmar and Sawk. Kanda has illustrated around 30 cards, including notable works like Giratina V Alternate Art from the Lost Origin set and the highly sought-after Magikarp Illustration Rare from Paldea Evolved. His artistic style has significantly influenced modern Pokémon TCG cards, and he has received recognition for his unique approach to illustration. Kanda's work has gained considerable attention in the collector community, with some of his cards achieving high market values.
