About
Heisuke Kitazawa is a freelance illustrator based in Tokyo, Japan. He has contributed artwork to the Pokémon Trading Card Game, illustrating five cards to date, with his first being Gossifleur from the Stellar Crown expansion. His other illustrated cards include Oricorio, Shaymin, and Maractus from various Scarlet & Violet expansions. Kitazawa has a diverse portfolio, having worked with brands such as Kenzo Parfums and Nickelodeon. He has been featured in a 30-page spotlight in the June 2021 issue of Illustration magazine, showcasing his work on Western confectionery brands and over 100 book visuals. He holds a BFA and an MA in Illustration from California State University, Fullerton. Kitazawa has published several books of his artwork, including The Current – Heisuke Kitazawa Works and Diary of me and my cat. He was born in Yokohama and has lived in the United States for 16 years before returning to Japan. His work spans various media, including book covers and stationery design.
