AKIRA EGAWA (Japanese: 江川あきら) is a freelance illustrator and 3D modeler who has been active as an official illustrator for the Pokémon Trading Card Game since 2019. She began her TCG illustration career with the Riolu card in the Unified Minds expansion. EGAWA has illustrated approximately 85 to 91 physical cards for the Pokémon TCG, along with an additional 28 cards for the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, the mobile version of the game. Her artwork is known for its dynamic 'action specialist' quality, capturing kinetic moments with saturated colors and dramatic motion, particularly effective on legendary or pseudo-legendary Pokémon. She has been featured as the illustrator for booster-pack artwork on several major expansions, including Battle Styles, Chilling Reign, Evolving Skies, and Fusion Strike. Additionally, she served as a judge for the Pokémon TCG Illustration Contest in 2022.
