Wataru Kawahara is a confirmed illustrator for the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG). His illustrations debuted in the Beat of the Frontier expansion, including notable cards like Charizard G LV.X. To date, he has illustrated around 40 cards, starting with the Supreme Victors set. Shinji Higuchi, while primarily known as a film director and special-effects artist, has also contributed to the TCG. He was commissioned to produce artwork for new Pokémon LEGEND cards in the HeartGold & SoulSilver expansion and co-illustrated all subsequent LEGEND cards in that series. Higuchi also directed two cards in the Undaunted expansion and is credited uniquely as the only person with a 'director' credit on individual cards. His contributions include notable LEGEND cards like Ho-Oh LEGEND and Lugia LEGEND. Both artists have collaborated on certain cards, showcasing their distinct roles within the Pokémon TCG.
