About
Tomohiro Kitakaze (北風友裕) was born on April 8, 1983, in Kobe, Japan. He is a freelance illustrator and an alumnus of Osaka University of Arts. Kitakaze previously worked as a 2D designer at Monolith Soft and later at Game Freak, where he contributed concept art and design work for Pokémon characters. He is known for illustrating a single card for the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG), specifically the Minccino card (number 84/99) from the Next Destinies set, which was released in September 2011. His artwork is credited on the card as "Tomohiro Kitakaze." Despite his limited contribution to the TCG, he has made a notable impact through his design work in the Pokémon franchise, particularly with the Mega Charizard X design. Kitakaze is not a prolific TCG artist but has made official contributions to the game.
