About
Ken Sugimori is a prominent Pokémon TCG illustrator, credited with many original Base Set cards and beyond, shaping the early visual identity of the franchise. His artwork has defined how many of the original 151 Pokémon appear on TCG cards. Sugimori is one of the most prolific TCG artists in Pokémon history, with estimates exceeding 900 individual cards attributed to him. His clean, authoritative style serves as the foundation for the look of Pokémon in both games and on cards. He has been involved in the Pokémon franchise since its inception in 1996, contributing to the design of Pokémon and creating official artwork. Yusuke Ohmura is also a Pokémon TCG illustrator, starting with the Mysterious Treasures expansion.
