About
K. Hoshiba, also known as Kei Hoshiba, is a Japanese 3D graphic designer recognized for his contributions to early Pokémon titles, including Pokémon Stadium, Pokémon Stadium 2, Pokémon Channel, Pokémon Colosseum, Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, and Pokémon Platinum. He has illustrated several Pokémon Trading Card Game cards, often credited simply as 'K. Hoshiba.' His early TCG artwork was frequently produced in collaboration with 'CR CG gangs,' where he provided base 3D models. Hoshiba is credited with the illustrations for the No. 2 Trainer and No. 3 Trainer cards, which are used as TCG World Championship trophy cards. He has illustrated 15 Pokémon TCG cards, starting with the Neo Genesis set, including notable cards like Zapdos ex, Poké Ball, Team Aqua’s Kyogre, and Typhlosion. His work spans multiple TCG expansions and includes both stylized 3D-inspired illustrations and special trophy-style promo art.
