About
Hitoshi Ariga, born on August 23, 1972, is a freelance illustrator and manga artist known for his significant contributions to the Pokémon franchise. He began illustrating for the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) in 2011 and has created approximately 141 to 165 cards, including originals and reprints, starting from the Legendary Treasures set. In addition to his work on the TCG, Ariga was invited by Ken Sugimori to design Pokémon for the main series, beginning with Pokémon X and Y, and has continued to contribute to subsequent titles. His designs often reflect a blend of creativity and cultural influences, particularly from European themes, as seen in the sixth generation of Pokémon. Ariga's artistic style has become an integral part of the Pokémon universe, showcasing his ability to bring characters to life through his illustrations.
