About
Hideaki Hakozaki (箱崎秀明) was born on September 29, 1977, in Yokohama, Japan. He is a painter, illustrator, and 3D designer who graduated from the University of Art and Design in Tokyo, majoring in oil painting. Hakozaki began his career in April 2001 as a 3D designer at Hudson Soft and transitioned to freelance work in January 2007, developing a distinctive painting style. In September 2011, he founded his own design studio, PLANETA. He became an illustrator for the Pokémon Trading Card Game in 2009, debuting with the HeartGold & SoulSilver expansion. Hakozaki is known for his 3D illustrations that often incorporate a painterly style, creating multi-layered visuals with an oriental aesthetic inspired by Johto region mythology. He has illustrated approximately 37 to 43 unique cards, including notable works like the HeartGold & SoulSilver "Unown" card. His contributions are recognized across various art databases and Pokémon TCG communities.
