About
Etsuya Hattori (Japanese: 服部悦也) is a prominent figure in the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) community, serving as the art director of The Pokémon Company and previously as an illustrator for the Pokémon TCG. His first illustration was Sunkern, released in the Neo Destiny expansion in March 2001. He is also credited with illustrating all of Lt. Surge’s Pokémon in the Pokémon VS expansion. Hattori has illustrated three cards for the Pokémon TCG: Sunkern from Neo Destiny, and Lt. Surge’s Raichu and Lt. Surge’s Lanturn from the Pokémon VS expansion. His contributions are documented on various platforms, including Bulbapedia and Serebii, which confirm his role as a TCG artist. Despite his achievements, the TCG-related article on Bulbapedia notes that it is a stub, indicating that the full list of his illustrations may not be comprehensive yet.
