Mitsuhiro Arita (有田満弘) is a renowned Pokémon Trading Card Game illustrator born on January 12, 1970, in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. He has been a freelance illustrator since the Pokémon TCG's inception in 1996 and is credited with illustrating over 640 cards, making him one of the most prolific artists in the game's history. Arita created iconic artwork for the Base Set, including the beloved Charizard and the original 'chubby' Pikachu cards. His artistic style has evolved from distinct outlines resembling watercolor to more fluid and vibrant illustrations. In addition to his work on Pokémon, Arita has contributed to other franchises, including Final Fantasy XI and Shin Megami Tensei.
