Kouki Saitou (斉藤コーキ), born May 13, 1973, is a freelance illustrator known for his work on the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG). He began illustrating for the Pokémon TCG with the Aquapolis expansion and has continued to produce artwork for cards, deck kits, booster packs, and merchandise sold through Pokémon Centers. His artistic style is characterized by realism, dynamic angles, and effective use of light and shadow, often featuring dramatic angles that enhance movement. Kouki Saitou has illustrated hundreds of TCG cards, with reports indicating he has illustrated 693 cards according to Bulbapedia and 719 cards according to Serebii.net, reflecting different counting methodologies. He is recognized as the biggest solo artist without ties to the rest of the Pokémon series, having illustrated over 691 cards from his first appearance in the E-Series Aquapolis to the Scarlet & Violet Twilight Masquerade set. Additionally, he has contributed to other TCGs, manga adaptations, company mascots, and promotional materials.
