She began her professional career illustrating manga in 1994, particularly in the Shueisha magazine RIBON Original. Himeno is a veteran Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) artist whose work began with the Jungle expansion, the second TCG set, released in Japan in 1997. She has illustrated over 600 Pokémon TCG cards, making her one of the most prolific artists in the history of the Pokémon TCG. Her signature style includes watercolor paintings with bright, vivid colors and softer tones in the backgrounds. Himeno has also contributed artwork to the Pokémon Tales picture-book series and authored her own manga series titled How I Became a Pokémon Card, which explores the stories behind her card illustrations.
